Two puppies stolen last month from a Thornton pet store were recovered and returned Wednesday, with Thornton police saying three suspects in the theft have been arrested.
Sirley Jaramillo-Renjifo, 45, and her two sons, Daniel Cruz-Jaramillo, 24, and Marcio Cruz-Jaramillo, 28, were among five people who entered the Pet Ranch store at 3823 E. 120th Ave. on Feb. 23, police said. One of the suspects bought a puppy, but when the group left, two other pups — a Labrador retriever valued at $1,099 and a Puggle valued at $849 — were gone.
Police said the puppies were found Wednesday at the Jaramillo-Renjifo home at about 9:45 a.m. Two suspects were arrested at that time, and two others turned themselves in to Thornton police about two hours later. One of them, a 16-year-old, was released pending the filing of formal charges. An adult female is at large.
