SEATTLE — Speaking Thursday during NCAA Tournament interviews, Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt sounded like he couldn’t be more impressed with 11th-ranked Northern Iowa.

Wyoming (25-9), the No. 12 seed in the East Regional, will play fifth-seeded UNI (30-3) at 10:40 a.m. Friday at KeyArena. UNI is coached by Ben Jacobson, who is 196-104 in nine years at the school.

“Ben and his staff have put together a great team,” Shyatt said. “They really have great shooters. They can really score the ball, they’re hard to defend.

“And I’ve got to tell you, I’m not sure I’ve seen defensive statistics like that since our back-to-backs (as an assistant during Florida’s two championships). They area a great well-rounded team.”
