The 60-meter titan swats down upon a fortified city in the “Attack on Titan” live-action movie. Or giving a high-five. I don’t know. Trailer unclear. (Screenshot)
The first teaser for the “Attack on Titan” movie offers a glimpse of humanity’s battle to survive against the titans.
Getting eaten by a 15-meter tall naked humanoid is definitely toward the top on my list of ways I don’t want to die.
The movie, based off the popular manga of the same name, is about how humanity has walled itself off in order to survive a plague of titans — giant mindless beings that feed on humans. For more than 100 years, humans have lived encapsulated in cities surrounded by these giant walls. Then one day a 200-foot-tall titan shows up and kicks a big hole in one of the walls, allowing the smaller titans to feast on the citizens inside. Check out the trailer:
“Attack on Titan” is slated for an Aug. 1 release in Japan.
It looks OK, but I’m always wary of live-action adaptations of mangas — they seem to always disappoint me. “Death Note,” I’m looking directly at you.
