Jet away
No need to book a flight for this freebie — just jet over to Jet’s Pizza’s grand opening in Littleton at 7935 S. Broadway. To celebrate its first location in Colorado, Jet’s Pizza is giving away a free slice of pizza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 28. The first 200 jet-setters will also receive a free gift. The Michigan-based company is known for its signature Detroit-style, deep-dish square pizza with a crunchy crust.
Basket case
Bass Pro Shops (7970 Northfield Blvd. in Northfield Stapleton) is hopping with family fun from March 28 to April 5. Kids can get a free 4×6 photo taken with the Easter Bunny from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Egg hunts are staged for kids ages 2 to 10 on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. (Registration starts at 1:30 p.m.) Plus, little ones can decorate and take home an Easter basket magnet, wooden bunny or chick at scheduled craft times. If your personal library is never big enough, check out $2 Buck Books, a used-book outlet located at 850 S. Monaco Pkwy. in the King Soopers shopping center. At more than 4,000 square feet, the place has thousands of titles for book worms to peruse. Your pocketbook will appreciate that hard covers are $4, paperbacks are $2 and children’s books start at 25 cents. The store is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Plus, the bookstore happily accepts donations. However, no store credit will be issued.
Fair play
Reality-competition show fans should find this event music to their ears. More than 45 local solo and group acts will vie for a chance to shine in the spotlight at the annual CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair. The Ultimate Music Xperience at the Celtic Tavern and Delaney’s Lounge (1801 Blake St.) is March 28 and 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sit back and listen as undiscovered talent and emerging bands battle it out for one of the coveted spots at the popular summer fair.
