A 59-year-old Littleton man was killed in a one-vehicle, rollover crash on Interstate 70 in Jefferson County early Monday.

The wreck happened at about 5 a.m. near the Lookout Mountain exit in the westbound lanes, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Trooper Josh Lewis said the man killed in the crash was the vehicle’s only occupant. The man was driving a black 2006 Lexus LX470.

“A single witness to the crash reported that the Lexus was driving at a high rate of speed when the vehicle drove off the road,” the patrol said.

Lewis said further information on the wreck, including the identity of the man killed, was not immediately available.

Lanes were closed in the area as the patrol investigated.

Officials are asking for anyone who saw the crash to call authorities at (303) 239-4501 and reference case number 1A151328.
