BOULDER — The 12-year-old girl accused of trying to kill her mother with bleach in response to having her iPhone privileges stripped was charged Wednesday with felony attempted murder and assault.
In a brief hearing, the girl waived the public reading of the advisement of her rights and of the charges against her.
She faces two counts of first-degree attempted murder, a Class 2 felony, and two counts of second-degree assault, a Class 4 felony.
According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the girl attempted to kill her mother twice — on March 2, when she allegedly poured bleach into her mother’s breakfast smoothie, and on March 6, when investigators claim she poured bleach into a water carafe in her mother’s bedroom.
