
Ginger Delgado has the latest news from the Denver Post newsroom with prosecutors saying that against Dynel Lane, the woman accused of stabbing and cutting out a 7-month-old fetus out of a Longmont woman.
The Boulder County coroner announced this morning there were no signs Michelle Wilkins’s fetus ever lived outside her womb. Lane will be in court at 1:30 today to be formally charged.The Boulder County district attorney will speak afterward.
Under Colorado law, murder charges cannot be filed if the fetus did not live outside the mother’s body.
Police say Lane attacked Wilkins in Lane’s apartment after she responded to a Craigslist ad for maternity clothes.
Lane is being held on $2 million bail.
