Longmont-based Oskar Blues, Colorado’s second-largest independent craft brewery, announced Friday the acquisition of small, little-known Perrin Brewing Co. of Comstock Park, Mich.

Amid rumors of more industry consolidation, an Oskar Blues spokesman revealed last month .
Perrin Brewing, just outside the craft beer center of Grand Rapids, produced 14,000 barrels in 2014. A barrel is 31 gallons.
Oskar Blues, which was founded in 1997 and which opened a second brewery in Brevard, N.C., in 2013, brewed nearly 150,000 barrels in 2014 and distributes in 42 states.
Founder Dale Katechis — whose name graces the brewery’s flagship beer, Dale’s Pale Ale — is the sole owner of Oskar Blues.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
