A 17-year-old female South African lion named Baby was euthanized at the Denver Zoo on Sunday.
“She displayed a decline in health due to numerous age-related issues and staff made the hard choice to humanely euthanize her,” the zoo Monday night.
The zoo said it was “deeply saddened” by the loss.
