Sean Isbell, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: Crafting has been big in my family since I was a small child, and I learned sewing from my grandmother, quilting and crochet from my mother and bead work and jewelry design from my stepmother. So taking all of the knowledge from those lovely ladies, I have basically had a passion for it for a very long time. I started making gifts and things for family, and then it got to the point where I just wanted to share it with everyone.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are very custom and we have an eye toward pop culture and pop references that others don’t necessarily have. Our color schemes and our choice of objects are very unique, and we get customers from all walks of life.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The creativity and being able to work with so many different ideas and viewpoints. I like being able to set my own hours, too. It’s a great perk.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: That we are actually working in a home, and people live here. It’s a challenge to try and manage all of our inventory and current projects, and yet still be a family home. We’re also working on building our online presence.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: People may be surprised to know that we take our inspiration from everywhere we look. We take it from music and TV shows, from nature and the people that we meet. We are very excited by people explaining their idea, and working to make their idea a full-fledged reality. Give us a minute or two with a piece of fabric or a ball of yarn in our hands and we will show you our take on life. Give us your idea and a little time, and we will show you your take on life.
