Molly Hughes has updates on the day’s top headlines.Traffic for the Denver-based airline dropped 12 percent in November and continued to drop steadily, down 31 percent in February. Southwest, Spirit and Delta have enjoyed an increase so overall passenger traffic dropped by only two percent over last year. Frontier has cut destinations out of Denver by 21 percent, blaming a tax burden, high landing fees and too few economic incentives.
after leaving poems and candy on the porch of a family. Eric Nilan, 34, had already been warned by police after being caught on camera but he returned the next week. He’s been in custody since his August arrest. Nilan was first deemed incompetent to proceed with the case but has since been treated with medication. The victims agreed to a plea deal of a four-year deferred sentence for Nilan. But, the judge says she wants to review the case further before signing off on it.
The app was launched in February — designed to assure safe, family-oriented programming. But consumer groups says the app is packed with ads and product placement. Opponents want the kids’ app to be governed by the same guidelines as TV, which limits commercials on kids’ programming.
The city of Glendale is doing a 180, launching a new development it hopes will take it back to the destination it was in the 1970’s, 80’s and early 90’s. The project manager says the goal is to make it a common consumption property, meaning you can buy a drink at one bar, and walk with it to another. The new 42-acre development will be near the Super Target. It’s set to open in the fall of 2017.
