Sunday Anyone who looks at the Arvada Kite Festival and thinks, “This isn’t really for me” just isn’t trying. The 12th annual event, which takes over Stenger Soccer Complex from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 12, knows you may not own a kite, so it’s selling them on-site. If you don’t want to buy one, organizers are offering $4 kite-making classes 4-5 p.m. April 10 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 11 at nearby Majestic View Nature Center. Don’t care for kites, but still want some outdoor family fun? Sunday’s main event also features jumping castles, train rides, face painters, balloon artists, hamster balls, food vendors, live music, professional kite-flyers (yes, that’s a thing) and more. Did we mention it’s free? West 58th Avenue and Quail Street in Arvada. 720-898-7403 or . John Wenzel
