Saturday Plenty of local music organizations talk about expanding their audiences, but few are doing it like Swallow Hill. The 36-year-old South Denver folk-music association is presenting its first-ever Latin American music festival this weekend in the form of Altitud, which features performances from a diverse slate of Spanish-language acts including Argentina’s Sofia Rei, Texas-based Max Baca & Los Texmaniacs, Peruvian transplant Manuel Molina and more. The full-day event also includes workshops for all levels of musician in everything from mariachi to Afro-Cuban drumming. Begins at 10 a.m. on April 11 at Swallow Hill’s Daniels Hall, 71 E. Yale Ave. $48 full-festival pass or $29 concert-only pass (7 p.m.).
