has a habit of hyping up projects that never see the light of day.
After releasing “Yeezus” in summer 2013, West said his next project the follow-up to his braggadocios collaboration with Jay Z. After 2012’s “Cruel Summer,” his GOOD Music imprint’s roster collaboration, West began to tease “Cruel Winter” , which fans wait expectantly for . And let’s not forget that just a few weeks ago, he was pronouncing of his weekly song release series, GOOD Friday.

So after West tweeted out that the follow-up to his just released (but ) seventh solo studio album would be released this summer, you couldn’t help but be a little skeptical — especially considering the glib-among-glib title he dashed off for the album:

My next album is titled "Turbo Grafx 16" as of now…

just on some super nerd vibes… one of my favorite gaming systems when I was a kid…
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest)
But according to an Instagram post by West’s close friend and barber Ibn Jasper showing him, Kid Cudi and fellow producers Plain Pat and Mike Dean hunched over laptops and synthesizers, West has already started in working on “Turbo Grfx 16”:
If we’ve learned anything from “The Life of Pablo,” West isn’t beholden to the delays (or ) that is inherent to the traditional album release model. If he finishes the new album on the first morning of summer, we might hear it that night.
Or a version of it, anyway.
