A man was arrested Tuesday in Parker shortly after allegedly waving a gun in an elementary school parking lot during a disagreement over a parking spot.
Wyatt Mayes, 31, was charged with menacing and unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds. He was booked at the Douglas County Detention Facility.
Officials said that at about 3:25 p.m., Parker police responded to Iron Horse Elementary School in the Hidden River subdivision. During a disagreement, Mayes reportedly drew a handgun and pointed it at another man. Officials said he then drove away before the officers arrived.
The school was not placed on lockdown, officials said, because the Mayes had left the area.
