Interview with Jim Anderson, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: I have always been interested in juicing for health. It was finally the right time for me to do this; I felt there was enough interest and need to support opening a healthy juice bar. Colorado is full of health-conscious consumers, and we want to help meet their needs.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are a natural and organic juice bar. We use organic produce, relying on natural sugars and other natural ingredients in the produce to flavor our drinks. All juice drinks are freshly squeezed from fresh produce. We also serve healthy smoothies and green drinks. We offer a wide variety of organic fruit and berry powders to add to your drink, which will benefit your health. We serve recipes that are specific to certain health ailments, to help alleviate them. We can make drinks to order if customers have a special request.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I enjoy meeting and talking to our customers who are very diverse and who love talking about the benefits of healthy juicing and drinks. It is rewarding to have a business that helps others with their health.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: Getting the word out that we are in business so that we can increase our customer base. We opened in the winter to a slow start. Now that the weather is warming up, business is increasing and we expect to need more help so we can expand our operating hours.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: I am surprised that there is such a high demand for healthy vegetable and fruit drinks and that people tell us that we are the only shop like this. They also comment on the variety of fruit and berry powders we carry and their benefits. We have a large offering for green juices, fruit and veggie drinks and fruit smoothies — something for everyone.
