
The Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao megafight is a done deal, .
With 10 days to go before the May 2 fight, the two sides reached an agreement Wednesday, allowing for tickets to the bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and on closed-circuit locations to be sold.
ESPN reported Tuesday that Top Rank’s Bob Arum, who represents Pacquiao, refused to sign the contract because, he said, the terms had changed.
“We agreed that we would all be signatories on the final contract and then they sent us a draft of the agreement and it excluded us,” he .
According to ESPN’s latest report, Leslie Moonves, the president and CEO of CBS Corp. stepped in to get the deal done, acting as a mediator of sorts between Arum and Mayweather’s adviser Al Haymon.
Tickets for the fight could go on sale as soon as Wednesday, but Top Rank president Todd duBoef told ESPN that only 500 of the roughly 16,000 tickets will go on sale to the public. Distribution of the others will be handled by Mayweather Promotions, Top Rank and the MGM Grand.
