
After a pleasant day overall, severe thunderstorms were bringing tornado warnings to the far Eastern Plains of Colorado.
A tornado warning is in effect until 6:30 p.m. for Prowers County, south of the town of Holly, and for Phillips and Sedgwick counties until 6:15 p.m. There was also a severe thunderstorm warning for Kit Carson and Yuma counties.
In the metro area, the National Weather Service in Boulder says scattered thunderstorms are possible mainly after 1 p.m. as light southwesterly winds begin blowing in the city.
The weather service says temperatures will top out at 66 degrees on Friday as more scattered storms could hit the city.
A chance of rain is expected through Monday night in Denver, according to forecasters.
