Among the sure signs that spring has moved beyond just a date on the calendar: trees are leafing out, jackets are left at home, the Rockies are starting to swoon, and food trucks return to Denver’s Civic Center Park.
Yes! The convoys of rolling dispensers of tasty comestibles return May 5. They will be dishing up everything from soft tacos to banh mi sandwiches to gyros Tuesdays and Thursdays through Oct. 8. Hours are 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
This is the 10th year for the Civic Center EATS tradition. It’s a great way to eat a cheap and tasty lunch in the open air. And there’s live music to boot.
A portion of the proceeds benefit the Civic Center Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring and boosting the historic Civic Center Park. Shaded tables and an on-site ATM are provided. Civic Center EATS is mounted by the Civic Center Conservancy and produced by Hobnob Events with support from community sponsors.
