CRAIG, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a 9-year-old boy who was visiting the Craig area in northwestern Colorado was killed when the small off-road vehicle he was in rolled on its side, pinning him underneath.
Moffat County Sheriff K.C. Hume tells the Craig Daily Press (http://goo.gl/tdS6oI ) the boy, whose name has not been released, suffered head injuries when the utility task vehicle rolled Friday night.
Three other people — two adults and a 12-year-old girl — were in the vehicle when it rolled. Hume says none of the occupants was wearing a helmet or using the UTV’s safety restraints.
The sheriff says the investigation is ongoing, but no criminal conduct is suspected.
