A 20-year-old man is facing charges of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol in a single-vehicle rollover crash in northwest Colorado Sunday evening that left his passenger dead.

Logan Otis, of Craig, is suspected of driving drunk and speeding in the 5 p.m. crash on Moffat County Road 18 North, authorities said.

The Colorado State Patrol says Otis was driving a 2002 Ford Focus northbound when he headed into a curve, began to rotate counter clockwise and then left the roadway onto a grass embankment, authorities say.

The patrol says the Ford began to roll, ejecting Otis’ passenger, 52-year-old Dennis Otis.

Logan Otis, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured in the wreck, according to the patrol. Dennis Otis was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The state patrol did not say how, or if, the two men were related.
