A Denver police officer is being lauded for digging into his pockets to pay for a family of seven’s dinner last month as he responded to reports of a disturbance.
On April 12, Officer TJ Young was dispatched to a home where a couple was arguing about how they were going to pay to feed their four young children and a grandfather living with them.
Police say Young recognized there was no crime, but felt he needed to something to help nonetheless.
“Not wanting the family to go hungry, Officer Young went to a restaurant, bought meals for each member of the family and delivered it back to their home,” earlier this week. “Thanks to Officer Young’s generosity, all went to bed with full bellies.”
