A man in Lakewood was arrested and charged with second-degree assault after a gun he was holding discharged, striking and seriously injuring a woman.
Lakewood police said Taylor Nethken, 22, was handling the gun when a bullet struck an unidentified 22-year-old woman inside her apartment in the area of South Wadsworth Boulevard and West Mansfield Parkway.
The woman was taken to the hospital; her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Nethken will appear in court on Wednesday.
