Grand Junction police are investigating an officer-involved shooting, apparently part of a series of incidents that took place Tuesday evening.

A statement issued by police indicated that the shooting took place near North 10th Street and Hill Avenue. According to the statement, the shooting followed two other incidents “involving a man with a gun, both in Mesa County and in downtown Grand Junction.”

Officials said more details would be released later.

The investigation is being done by the 21st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team, which is comprised of the following agencies: Grand Junction Police Department, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, Fruita Police Department, Palisade Police Department, Colorado State Patrol, 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Colorado Bureau of Investigation.
