LONGMONT — A gofundme page set up on Sunday to benefit a Colorado state trooper and a cadet struck by a car on Saturday had raised more than $20,700 by 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Nearly 260 people had donated money to the site set up for Trooper Clinton Rushing and Cadet Trooper Taylor Thyfault.

The page seeks to raise $100,000.

Thyfault, 21, died at the scene of a crash on Colorado 66 near Weld County Road 1 on Saturday morning. Rushing, 37, was seriously injured and remained hospitalized Tuesday.
