Wayne New, a candidate for Denver City Council District 10, gives his opening statement during a May 13 debate. (Brent Lewis, The Denver Post)
In the District 10 Denver City Council runoff election, there is still time to vote. Wayne New clearly is the more qualified candidate, and his campaign and fundraising — unlike his opponentap — have been open and quite transparent. Once again, a voter must ask how an elected candidate could be “fair and impartial” in City Council deliberations when more than half of her campaign funding has been from special-interest groups and individuals who do not reside in District 10.
