Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and warm temperatures in Denver on Monday in what is expected to be a break from days of severe, unrelenting storms.
Just don’t expect it to last.
A high of 82 degrees is called for in the city on Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
“Isolated thunderstorms are expected to form over the higher terrain this afternoon and early evening,” the weather service said in a bulletin. “A few of the storms could move off the higher terrain over the Front Range.”
Forecasters say, however, that weather overall is expected to be drier on Monday, meaning weaker storms. Gusty winds and periods of brief, heavy rain are still possible in isolated areas, according to the weather service.
“There will be a slight chance of late day showers and thunderstorms in the mountains Tuesday,” the bulletin said. “By Wednesday afternoon through next weekend, we can expect another moist, wet and somewhat cool period with showers and thunderstorms a good bet.”
