Jalen Thompson, formerly of Denver East and Western State, has signed to play basketball at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan. Thompson will have two years of eligibility remaining.
The 5-foot-10 guard was a redshirt sophomore last season for Western State, when he averaged 2.7 points.
“Jalen Thompson is a super young man and fine student who played in one of the most successful high school programs in Colorado at Denver East under the legendary coach, Rudy Carey,” Bethany head coach Clair Oleen said. “We look for Jalen to provide us with quality backcourt depth.”
Thompson is the son of Tyneese and Jason Thompson. He has a 3.0 grade point average and plans to major in physical health and wellness.
As a senior at Denver East in the 2010-11 season, Thompson helped the Angels advance to Class 5A’s Great 8.
The Bethany Swedes compete in 18 intercollegiate sports in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
