Co-anchor of The Sports Show Les Shapiro said the hiring of Mike Malone as the head coach of the Denver Nuggets doesn’t appear to be a good fit.
“I don’t understand it,” Shapiro said. “He seems to be the antithesis of who they should be bringing in.”
“I want to see how they fill out his offensive coaching chairs to see if there’s a good offensive mind there. But I thought D’Antoni should have been the pick. For a long time, I thought he would be the pick.”
“I think this is a Josh Kroenke pick and I’m starting to question it,” he said.
Shapiro thought bringing in D’Antoni as the head coach with Mike Malone as the defensive coach would have been the best strategy.
“But that might have been too expensive for them,” Shapiro said. “Remember, Mike Malone isn’t going to cost them a lot of money.”
