Judge Carlos Samour dismisses juror #267 on the morning of Wednesday, June 17.
The defense requested the dismissal of Juror #267 on May 6, 2015, the day after Maria Carbonell testified. Juror #267 knew Carbonell, whose son attends the school at which the juror works.
Samour said he now feels that Juror #267 was not entirely forthcoming with him regarding the situation. Two students from the juror’s school were at the theater the night of the attack.
Samour granted the defense’s request to release the juror, making her the fifth juror released in the trial so far and the second released this week.
