COLORADO SPRINGS — A Fort Carson soldier Wednesday was convicted of murder in the shooting death of a comrade last year in Jordan.
Spc. Jeffery Page intentionally shot and killed his 2nd Brigade Combat Team comrade Spc. Adrian Perkins in May 2014 while the two were guarding an American missile site at a Jordanian air base, the court martial found.
Page was tried and convicted by military judge Col. Douglas Watkins, who had sole rule over the case after the specialist waived his right to a military jury. The trial began Monday. Details on his sentencing hearing were not immediately available.
Perkins died May 17, 2014, at the base while he was carrying lunch to Page and another soldier at a guard post. An autopsy showed he suffered a single gunshot wound to the head from an M-4 rifle.
