Denver police have arrested a 29-year-old man for investigation of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a woman at an East Colfax Avenue hotel.

Brandon Foote was arrested in the shooting of a woman in her late 20s, who was , according to a 9 a.m. Denver police tweet.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Merita Curry, 34, another suspect in the shooting, had previously turned herself in to police.

Authorities had been searching for Foote’s 2000 GMC Yukon.

Foote has a history of serious criminal convictions.

In 2003, he was charged with first-degree burglary, assault and menacing, armed with a weapon. He was sentenced to four years in prison.

In 2012, Foote was charged with first-degree assault, extreme indifference. He pleaded guilty to vehicular eluding and was sentenced to two years in prison.
