DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT, Colo. (AP) — A wildfire sparked by lightning has burned just under 1 square mile in Dinosaur National Monument in northwestern Colorado.

Authorities said Monday the fire is burning in grass, brush and Ponderosa pine trees in a remote part of the monument. It was reported Saturday.

Ground crews and a helicopter are fighting the fire, and more firefighters and air support have been requested.

Officials say no structures or visitors are threatened.

The fire is in the Colorado portion of the 328-square-mile monument, which straddles the Utah-Colorado border.
