Chatfield State Park announced Thursday that one of three boat ramps has reopened, just in time for the holiday weekend.

The west dock at the North Boat Ramp is now open due to dropping water levels, according to a Colorado Parks and Wildlife news release.

The release warned boaters to expect long wait times.

“Boaters are reminded to be alert for floating debris and unmarked hazards,” the release said. “Water levels continue to drop but many facilities remain closed and affected by high water.”

The main road south of Fox Run Picnic Area remains closed, so boaters must use the Wadsworth Boulevard entrance.

The North Roxborough Park Road entrance is the only way to reach the campground, the release said.

Many parking lots, restroom facilities and picnic areas remain closed after the heavy spring rains.
