Thunderstorms and showers are expected to move across the Denver metro region through 9 p.m. on Thursday.
The National Weather Service said in an update about 7:15 p.m. that storms are moving from the northwest into urban areas along Interstate 25. Small hail was falling northwest of Boulder at 7:20 p.m.
Meteorologists said lightning, 50 mph winds, brief moderate to heavy rainfall and hail up nearly an inch in diameter is possible.
The weather service said that folks with outdoor plans should be aware of lightning.
