Re: “The wider lessons of Greece’s economic woes,” July 7 editorial.

I applaud your editorial concerning the Greek debt situation, and how it should be a signal for governments around the world, including the United States. I consider this a very serious long-term problem for the United States. The most troubling aspect is the attitude that comes from major portions of the population feeling entitled to receive continued benefits that cannot be supported by the financial revenues of the economy.

It is high time for the political leadership of the United States to address these issues, before it is too late.
