Pot smokers partake in smoking marijuana at exactly 4:20 p.m. during the annual 420 celebration in Lincoln Park near the State Capitol in Denver on April 20. (Helen H. Richardson, Denver Post file)
Re: “Poll shows support for Denver allowing more options for marijuana use,” July 9 news story.
Your print and Web editions make misleading statements about a poll that “shows support for Denver allowing more options for marijuana use” and “shows Denver citizens back limited use at businesses.” At a minimum, the headlines should have included “according to a poll backed by cannabis supporters.”
This is no objective poll, and I doubt strongly that it represents broad “voter” or “citizen” support of any such proposals. The Post simply has stooped to reporting propaganda from Mason Tvert and Company as “news,” uncritically regurgitating marijuana-interest advocacy.
This kind of journalism, if it belongs anywhere, should be restricted to the op-ed pages.
