
1 Hand mistaken for gun. On July 3, a man contacted a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy after a brief traffic confrontation near the intersection of South Simms Street and West Marlowe Avenue in the Littleton area. The man said the other driver was being erratic, yelled something at him at a stoplight and produced a gun. The suspect was located but denied having a gun, saying he just threw his hands up in the air. Police did not find a gun in the car.
2 Woman reports parking altercation. A woman called deputies on June 28 after she had an altercation with a man in the parking lot of Jared’s Nursery, 10500 W. Bowles Ave. in the Littleton area. The woman said the man opened his car door and hit her car. After she said something to him, he became combative and started calling her names.
3 Roadside pruning. On June 28, a woman called deputies to report a suspicious woman cutting foliage in the 10000 block of West Buckhorn Road near Ken-Caryl. The woman said she asked the suspect what she was doing and she held up the pruning shears she was using and said not to talk to her. The woman believed the suspect was mentally ill.
4 Jail scam reported. A woman called deputies to report a suspicious phone call at her home in the 6000 block of South Depew Court, Columbine (Littleton). The woman said the caller claimed to be her grandson and said he was in a Mexican jail and needed bail money. The woman said she was suspicious and told the caller she would call his mother to verify. He hung up.
