Getting your player ready...

It’s the fifth and last year for the Centennial Day Party at the yellow house on First and Acoma, and all early indications are that the Meese brothers are doing it right.

Blue Rider, a regular, psychy favorite that Nate Meese called “the most underrated band in Denver,” played to a characteristically packed backyard. Sweaty UMSers barely had room to bob their heads and sip their free Denver Beer Co. beers.

It’s sad that this day party has to go at all, but if we only had the raw, hirsute psychedelia to send us off, it would be a happy ending.
