The UMS said goodnight with Plum, a first-timer at the fest that already has the popularity of a veteran band. But they also have the taste of veteran music lovers. It’s ’60s psych rock that’s been around for decades and has never quite gotten old. Now is the time for Plum, when almost every dude with a guitar wants to make something that sounds as revolutionary as Cream did in the ’60s.
After a sound-check struggle in which a keyboard wouldn’t make sound, the psych-rock set at the Hi-Dive capped off a successful second day packed with like-minded acts in like-minded rooms.
If there’s anything the UMS loves, it’s hard rocking dudes.
