Forecasters are calling for another cooler day across the Denver area on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and breezy winds in the city.
The National Weather Service in Boulder says temperatures will top out near 85 degrees.
“It will be a pleasant summer day across northeast Colorado with temperatures slightly below normal,” the weather service said in a forecast bulletin. “A few showers and thunderstorms will be possible, mainly over the higher terrain and south of Interstate 70.”
The weather service says those thunderstorms could bring some brief, heavy rain and gusty outflow winds.
A slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms is expected over the mountains and foothills from Thursday into early next week.
“Over the plains, thunderstorm activity will be isolated in coverage,” the bulletin said. “Storms will mainly produce gusty winds and brief rainfall.”
Temperatures will start out slightly below average on Thursday, forecasters say, and warm to slightly above average early next week.
