A 20-year-old man faces allegations that he sexually assaulted a child at his mother’s home child-care center in Aurora in 2010, according to a 7News report.

An investigation by the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services started in the summer of 2014, the television station reported.

Aurora Police aided in the investigation, Sgt. Chris Amsler said Tuesday night.

Amsler declined further comment because the case involves “a juvenile (at the time) suspect and a juvenile victim.”

A trial in Arapahoe County District Court is scheduled on Aug. 17.

The Colorado Department of Human Services said in a document, , that it had “reasonable grounds to believe and find that the operation of this family child care home presents a substantial danger to the public health, safety and welfare requiring emergency action.”

The child care facility was required to surrender its license.

The boy involved in the case was age 6 at the time of the alleged assault.
