About three months separate weary travelers from the opportunity to bunk at the new Denver Airport Westin hotel, but the official exterior branding of the iconic building took less than12 hours to apply.

Denver International Airport on Tuesday made a time-lapse video from about 8:30 a.m. and dusk as workers from general contractor Mortenson, Hunt, Saunders, Color-Ad and Colorado Sign Work hoisted and installed the huge letters spelling out “Westin.” (The “W” is 5-feet tall, the other letters are 4-feet tall.)

Airport spokesman Heath Montgomery called the installation “a symbol of how close we are to opening this amazing facility, now just a “

“We just wanted to capture that special moment,” he said of the 29-second video.

Inside, crews are beginning to install art and place furniture in the guest rooms. Tiles are being installed on the pool and workers also are almost done with the hotel lobby and the public plaza, which is slated to host concerts and events, Montgomery said.
