Mesa County authorities say an Interstate 70 traffic stop early Tuesday netted two arrests, more than six pounds of methamphetamine and just over eight pounds of cocaine.

Jesus Galvez, a 27-year-old Arizonan, and Faustino Martinez, a 36-year-old Mexican, are both suspected of drug distribution and were booked into the county jail.

The county sheriff’s office says the two men were stopped about 2:30 a.m. as they headed east on the interstate Tuesday.

Officials say deputies found the drugs inside the duo’s vehicle.

The men were stopped 16 miles from the Utah border.
