
1 Trio of trouble. Police were called July 29 to Mesa Motor Inn at 6500 W. Colfax Blvd. in Lakewood to meet a man who said he followed a woman into the motel for sex, and shortly after, her brother entered and retrieved a handgun from under the bed and told him to leave. All three were issued a prostitution-related summonses.
2 Loaded handgun missing. Edgewater police took a report Aug. 5 that a loaded handgun had been stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Chase Street. The vehicle’s owner said he was uncertain if he locked the vehicle overnight.
3 Alley brawl. A man told police Aug. 4 he had been robbed in an alley near the 2200 block of Fenton Street in Edgewater. The victim said he used a stun gun on a male suspect who pulled a knife and demanded his money. During the ensuing brawl, the suspect grabbed the victim’s wallet and fled.
4 Angry ex-boyfriend returns. Police arrested a man July 29 in the 560 block of South Ames Street, Lakewood, after his ex-girlfriend reported he followed her from a nearby bar, entered her home and threatened to beat her up before throwing her cellphone when she tried to call 911.
5 Pricey gum. A husband-wife duo working at Walmart at 440 Wadsworth Blvd. in Lakewood were questioned and the husband arrested for theft after store surveillance caught her giving him $260 cash back for a pack of gum on July 30.
6 Jeep stolen. A black 2015 Jeep Renegade was reported stolen Aug. 7 in the 2800 block of Kendall Street, Edgewater.
