A Broomfield woman faces charges of attempted first-degree murder in connection with the Aug. 11 stabbing of her husband, authorities say.
Carmen Bermudez, 33, is charged with attempted first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury and tampering with physical evidence, according to a news release from the 17th Judicial District. She also is charged with a crime of violence, a sentencing enhancer.
On Aug. 11, her husband, Nerio Pinales, 45, called 911 to report he had been assaulted by his wife at their residence in the 5000 block of W. 126th Circle in Broomfield. Police said he had fled his home and went to a neighbor’s residence where he called police. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Bermudez is being held on $100,000 bond.
