People lined up as early as 4:30 a.m. to get a whiff of something extraordinary.

After enduring a slow snaking line early Wednesday at the Denver Botanic Gardens, they leaned over and took deep breaths, hoping they might just need the complimentary barf bags they were given.

Instead, disappointment and a little bit of confusion registered on faces. What they smelled was cologne and perfume, not the smell of a corpse.

It wasn’t even stinky at all, by most accounts.
