A man stalked a woman on the Auraria Campus Tuesday, grabbing the victim and attempting to kiss her, before fleeing the area, campus police said.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. in the Arts Building, near the first floor women’s restroom, according to a campus crime alert posted online.

The assailant followed the victim and her friend from the Tivoli to the Arts Building, the alert said. The victim and her friend attempted to evade the man by entering the women’s restroom.

That’s when the man ” physically grabbed” the victim and tried to kiss her. The woman broke away and found safety in the restroom.

The assailant fled.

The victim suspects the same man followed her twice last week, near the RTD Auraria West light rail station at about 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 and 18, the alert said. Those incidents did not escalate and were not reported to police at the time.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, in his mid-20’s, about six-feet and one-inch tall and 165 pounds with a slim build, medium to short blonde hair, and slight facial hair. He was wearing a blue shirt.

Anyone with information on the incident, or on a possible suspect, is asked to call the Auraria Campus Police Department at 303 556-5000.

Anonymous tips can be left at 303 556-2677, or visit the department’s office at: 1201 5th St., Administration Building, Room 110.
