A man tried to entice a boy walking to the bus stop into his pick-up truck Friday morning in Evans, police said.
The boy was walking from his home in the 3300 block of Coyote Lane around 6:30 a.m. when a man in a full-size, brown pick-up truck — possibly a 2000 or newer Chevrolet — stopped near the child, the Evans Police Department news release said.
The man made motions gesturing for the child to approach the truck, police said, but the boy’s nearby parents saw what was happening and walked out of their home.
The man then drove away, the release said.
The truck is described as having an extended cab, tinted windows and a “color-matching tonneau cover” over the bed.
Police said the vehicle does not match the descriptions of .
The man was described as being in his late 40s or early 50s.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Evans Police Department at 970-339-2441. If the vehicle is spotted, authorities ask people call their local police department.
