Darren Bloomquist, the cab driver shot to death early Saturday, was dispatched to pick up someone named Devin at 20000 East Mitchell Place, Metro Taxi, his employer said in a release Tuesday.
Bloomquist, 49, near a Green Valley Ranch gated community where he went to pick up a fare. The company is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the assailant’s capture.
“Metro Taxi dispatch said Bloomquist quit responding to his radio after he was called for a pickup outside the front gates of the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood,” the company said.
Denver Police found Bloomquist when they searched the vacinity of his last known location. His vehicle, a Ford Crown Victoria painted in the blue, orange and white Metro Taxi color scheme “was stationary there at Mitchell and Elmira,” police said, according to the company release.
He was shot in the head, the company said.

“We will not rest until Bloomquist’s murder is brought to justice,” said Robert McBride, president of Metro Taxi Denver.
Bloomquist, 49, was a psychologist who incurred after his wife was disabled in an accident, his father said.
Police so far have no suspect in the case, said Denver Police spokesman Doug Schepman.
